That might sound too good to be true but it isn’t. Here are some tips and tricks to own that interview and show that you are the right person for the job.

Do Your Homework

If you are going into an interview you obviously want the job. If you know a good bit about the company, it will reveal that you are a prepared and professional employee. You should know what their company does, how it operates, and any other prominent parts of the job. A great idea is to ask a question of something that you want to know. Often interviewers ask questions and then end with “Do you have any questions for me?” Asking a question at this point shows them that you care about the company and that you came prepared. Both are important characteristics of good employees.

Have a Working Resume’

This is a really easy tip. There are hundreds of ways to make a resume. Do some research and make an outstanding resume’ that showcases your skillset. Know your resume’ going into the interview. If the interviewer asks a question about it be prepared to answer. It would be a good idea to think about potential resume’ questions and have pre-conceived answers.

Body Language

Actions speak louder than words. You’ve heard that your whole life. It was true 10 years ago and it still is today. Make eye contact early and often. You don’t need to stare lasers through the interviewer the whole meeting. Instead, allow them to break eye contact, and when they do, you can break it as well. You should look sharp as well. If you want the job, dress for it. Often people who want a desk job go into an interview in a suit or nice dress which is an over-dressing mistake. Dress for the part.

These things are all important and can help you nail the job of your dreams. The best part of life is that it rewards the hardworking. So make sure you put in the time. The reward is in the journey.
